Easy Chocolate Dessert Recipes
No matter what chocolate dessert you are serving a nice cocktail makes every dessert more delightful. A chocolate martini is always welcome and is a glass of easy chocolate dessert. Recipes for chocolate martinis vary but this one is very simple.
Chocolate Martini Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 ounces of vanilla vodka
- 1 ½ ounces of crème de cacao, the clear type please
- 2 Hershey's kisses unwrapped
Instructions
- Mix the vodka and crème de cacao together with ice. You can shaken them or stir them as you please.
- Strain into chilled martini glasses.
- Garnish with kisses.
Easy Chocolate Pudding Recipe
Pudding from a box usually tastes more like the box than chocolate. This recipe will get you 4 servings of deep, rich chocolate flavor in about the same amount of time that a box pudding takes to cook.
Ingredients
- ½ cup packed brown sugar, dark if you have it
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- ¼ tablespoon salt
- 2 cups milk
- 4 ounces of semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate chopped
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Instructions
- In a large saucepan mix together the sugar, brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
- If you are using a non-stick pan you should use a rubber spatula to combine them.
- Once everything is combined add 1 cup of the milk and the chocolate and whisk slowly over a medium heat until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
- Add the remaining milk and cook until large bubbles form and pop on the surface.
- Remove the pan from the heat and whisk in the vanilla.
- Pour the pudding into four bowls and let it come to room temperature.
- At this point you can either serve the pudding or cover it with plastic wrap, making sure the wrap is touching the surface of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming, and refrigerate until cool.
Chocolate Mousse Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 ounces of semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate chopped
- ¼ cup of cream
- ¼ cup of sugar
- 4 eggs separated
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Using a Bain Marie and low heat melt the chocolate and cream together.
- You can make a Bain Marie by placing bowl over a pot that has water in it. The water #should not touch the bottom of the bowl and the bowl should fit snug on the pot.
- Once the chocolate has melted add half the sugar and whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the rest of the sugar and stir with the whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
- Remove the chocolate form the heat.
- Add the yolks one at a time stirring until they are well blended with the chocolate.
- Using your stand mixer beat the egg whites and salt until it reaches stiff peaks.
- Fold one third of the chocolate into the whites until it is completely incorporated.
- Add another third of the chocolate and fold it into the whites.
- Add the remaining third of the chocolate and fold it into the whites.
- Once the mousse is completely mixed fill four martini glasses with the mousse.
- Refrigerate for at least an hour.
- Serve cold.
